Baller
Baller is a DJ, producer and edit-maker associated with the modern 45 and DJ-edit scene. He co-founded Eastside Edits in 2021 and became known through Twitch for high-energy, open-format DJ sets. His sets draw from a broad range of styles and are built around his extensive collection of 7-inch records.
Baller's work as an editor includes the “Candi Flip”, released on Eastside Edits 003 in 2022. The 7-inch pairs his edit with a LeBaron James production, and Baller's side reworks an 1980s recording by The Source featuring Candi Staton, reshaping it into a dancefloor-focused version.
Through Eastside Edits, Baller became part of a growing international 45-edit community, with the label concentrating on limited-edition, DJ-friendly 7-inch releases. The catalogue has included edits from artists including LeBaron James, Suckaside and Baller himself.
In 2026, Baller launched Baller Beats, a Toronto-based 45 label focused on DJ edits spanning Hip-Hop, funk, soul, R&B, house and disco. The label's stated aim is to release classic cuts and new edits for DJs, collectors and music lovers.
Baller made his first appearance as an artist on the label with “Waiting For A Daydream”, the B-side of Baller Beats 003, released in 2026. The release describes the track as an East Coast Hip-Hop edit combining tough drums with an R&B hook, designed as a DJ-friendly flip.
Alongside his production and label work, Baller Entertainment describes him as having around 30 years of experience in DJing, with an extensive 45 collection and an open-format approach covering different genres, eras and styles.
Baller's work therefore sits firmly within contemporary 7-inch DJ culture, combining open-format DJing, vinyl collecting, edits and label ownership through Eastside Edits and Baller Beats.
