Dal Platinum is a UK DJ and producer who began DJing in the early 1990s. After taking an extended break from DJing in the early 2000s, he returned during the 2020 lockdown period, initially playing Hip-Hop and breaks on Twitch. He subsequently returned to music production and began regularly releasing edits and remixes.

Dal Platinum's production is primarily rooted in boom-bap-era Hip-Hop, while his DJ sets draw heavily on breaks and Hip-Hop. He describes much of his output as Hip-Hop edits and remixes of older funk and soul recordings. His Bandcamp catalogue contains a large number of edits, remixes and productions, with releases dating from his early experiments in production through to his more recent work.

His music has appeared on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, including remixes, digital releases and the Toxic Funk 7-inch series. His first Toxic Funk release, Toxic Funk Vol. 12, was issued on 7-inch in 2024, featuring “Breathe And Strut” and “Peace Dust”. The label described the release as combining Hip-Hop, reggae, soul and funk influences, with the tracks designed for DJs and 45 collectors.

Dal Platinum returned to the Toxic Funk series in 2026 with Toxic Funk Vol. 22, a 7-inch featuring “Shave The Lords” and “Good Shines”. The release was issued by Breakbeat Paradise in July 2026.

He has also collaborated with other producers on themed edit projects. In 2024 he contributed to James Bond – 007 / Remixes & Edits alongside DJ Gizmo and DJ Little Fever, producing his own edits for the compilation. His Bandcamp describes his approach simply: when he isn't streaming on Twitch, he makes edits that he either finds amusing or wants to use in his own DJ mixes.

Alongside his vinyl releases, Dal Platinum maintains an extensive Bandcamp catalogue, with hundreds of individual releases covering edits, remixes and original productions. Recent releases include REClair, Word Inside, Jessicas Rep, Bump The Noise and Rotten Hourglass.

Dal Platinum's work sits firmly within the modern breaks, Hip-Hop, funk and 45-edit scene, combining the sounds of classic funk and soul records with boom-bap production techniques and DJ-focused arrangements.
