EastSide Edits is a Toronto-based record label specialising in funky edits, house, Hip-Hop and disco on 7-inch vinyl. The label launched in 2021 with the aim of bringing DJ-friendly edits to both the 45 and house-DJ communities, with releases built around familiar recordings reworked for the dancefloor. The label's first release, EastSide Edits 001 (ESE001-7), appeared in June 2021 and paired Pinto NYC – "Rock With You (Edit)" with LeBaron James – "Never Gonna Give My Love Again (Edit)". The release was pressed as a limited, hand-stamped white-label 7-inch and received early support from DJs including DJ Koco. EastSide Edits 002 followed in May 2022, featuring Toronto house producer Demuir alongside Double A. Demuir contributed "WAP (Jacked Playboi Edit)", while Double A supplied "Oh My God (Mid Tempo Rework)". The record continued the label's combination of house, funk, disco and Hip-Hop influences. The third release brought together LeBaron James and Baller, with "Keep It Coming" and "Candi Flip". Subsequent releases expanded the roster further: Jim Sharp appeared on ESE004, Double A returned for ESE005, and Suckaside contributed to ESE006. The label has developed a particularly strong connection with the contemporary international 45-edit scene. ESE007, released in April 2024, featured DJ S with two reworks of 1976 chart material, "Moves At Midnight" and "Lay Down That Boogie". The following release, ESE008, paired Indonesian producer Rhework with UK duo Suckaside, with the latter returning to the label for "Alright". The catalogue reached ESE009 in February 2026 with Greek production duo Senior Citizens (DJ S & DJ Chairman). The release featured two Motown/soul edits, "The Best Things In Life" and "Ticket For An Aeroplane", continuing the label's emphasis on upbeat, drum-heavy edits for DJs and collectors. EastSide Edits has consequently built a catalogue that connects Toronto's house and DJ culture with the wider international 7-inch edit movement, bringing together producers and DJs from different backgrounds while maintaining a consistent focus on funk, soul, disco, Hip-Hop and dancefloor-oriented reworks. Its catalogue remains predominantly centred on two-track 7-inch releases.
