Scruniversal is an edit label associated with DJ and producer Scruscru, issuing a series of 7-inch releases built around re-edits, disco, funk, soul, Brazilian music, Hip-Hop and other groove-oriented material. The label's catalogue includes releases by Scruscru himself as well as artists including Elado, DJ El Ohim, Classonix, Zaffa, LTF, Tony Lavrutz and Los Protos. The label identifies itself as being based in Armenia. The label's SCRU series is particularly focused on 7-inch vinyl. Among its releases is Elado – Edits Do Brasil (SCRU 011), released in 2026. The record contains two Brazilian-themed edits, “Sabor” and “Debbie”, and continues Scruniversal's emphasis on DJ-oriented reworks of funk, disco and international groove records. Elado is an international DJ and record collector with a long production history, and has previously released edits through labels including Funkyjaws Music, Razor-N-Tape and Red Motorbike. For Scruniversal, he dug into Brazilian material for the two tracks on Edits Do Brasil. The B-side, “Debbie,” is based on Altay Veloso's “Debora,” originally released in 1986 on the album Sedução. The track had previously appeared on the Too Slow To Disco Brasil compilation, and Elado's version reshapes the recording into a more DJ-friendly Brazilian disco edit. The A-side, “Sabor,” takes a different approach, combining Brazilian-influenced vocals and harmonies with a tight funk groove, bass and percussion. Together the two sides place the release firmly within the contemporary Brazilian edit and 7-inch DJ scene. Edits Do Brasil was released as SCRU 011, a 7-inch single, in 2026. It sits within a Scruniversal catalogue that also includes Brazilian-focused releases such as Scruscru & Los Protos – “Os Sons Do Rio / Sozinha Mulher” and Scruscru, Los Protos & Tony Lavrutz – “Inspetores De Umidade / Ácido Brasil.” Scruniversal's catalogue therefore has a clear connection to the modern global edit and 7-inch culture, using the format to bring funk, disco, soul and Brazilian recordings into contemporary DJ sets while maintaining a strong focus on digging and re-editing.
