The Funkadoobian says: Packaging

Year Released: 1965 (single and album)
Genre: Folk Rock, Protest Song
Description: "Eve Of Destruction" is a powerful and controversial protest song by Barry McGuire. It became a huge hit despite (or because of) its stark and pessimistic lyrics, which painted a bleak picture of global political tensions, social injustice, and the Vietnam War. McGuire's raw, passionate vocal delivery over a driving folk-rock arrangement captured the anxieties of the mid-1960s and became an anthem for the burgeoning counterculture.
