Duran Duran - Notorious

Duran Duran reinvented their sound for the mid-80s with “Notorious,” trading some of their earlier new-wave sheen for a funkier, more stripped-back groove. Released in 1986, the track is driven by a tight bassline, crisp percussion, sharp guitar and Simon Le Bon’s cool, confident vocals, with Nile Rodgers of Chic bringing his unmistakable rhythmic touch to the production. Blending pop sophistication with funk and dancefloor sensibilities, “Notorious” remains one of the band's most distinctive singles. An essential 7-inch for 80s pop and funk collectors, and crate diggers exploring the connections between new wave, disco and dance music.
