Prince of Peace is one of the defining records of the early UK acid-jazz movement — a scene that tried to reconnect dance music with live musicianship, jazz harmony, soul grooves, and political consciousness.

Galliano approached groove differently from many dance acts of the era. Instead of relying mainly on programmed loops, they built tracks that felt organic and improvisational while still carrying DJ-friendly rhythm. Prince of Peace floats on warm basslines, jazzy keyboards, and spoken/sung vocals that feel heavily influenced by:
