Description:
James Brown’s “Bring It On…Bring It On” opens with his signature commanding vocals, call-and-response backing, and driving horn sections. The energy is relentless, and the syncopated rhythm lays the foundation for what would become modern funk. The B-side, “The Night Time Is The Right Time”, slows the pace slightly while keeping the infectious groove intact, demonstrating Brown’s versatility in balancing high-energy funk with soulful balladry.

Brown’s work here is frequently referenced and sampled by hip-hop artists seeking raw funk grooves. Original 7″ copies remain prized collectibles and serve as prime examples of his mid-60s funk evolution.
