Description:
James Brown’s “I Cried” is a dramatic soul ballad, highlighting his impassioned vocal delivery over lush string arrangements and subtle rhythm instrumentation. The B-side, “World Pt. 2”, provides a contrasting upbeat groove, foreshadowing Brown’s eventual turn toward funk with its percussive rhythm and horn accents.

While not as widely sampled as Brown’s later funk classics, this single captures his early vocal mastery and remains a sought-after collectible for vintage soul enthusiasts. Original 7″ pressings are rare and highly valued by collectors.
