Recorded shortly after his club hit “I’ve Got a Woman,” the track locks into a deep, blues-drenched groove powered by earthy organ swells, walking bass lines, and swinging drums. McGriff’s playing is relaxed yet commanding — balancing gospel phrasing with jazz sophistication.

The tune’s title nods to his nickname, “M.G.,” and it perfectly captures the emerging Philadelphia organ sound: soulful, streetwise, and irresistibly groovy. Its smoky, after-hours energy made it a jukebox favorite and a foundational cut for later acid-jazz and soul-jazz revivalists.
