Year Released: 1962 (Compilation)
Genre: Soul Jazz, Hard Bop
Description: While often referred to as an early album, "The Incredible Jimmy Smith" is frequently a compilation drawing from his influential early Blue Note recordings. Jimmy Smith revolutionized the Hammond B-3 organ in jazz, transforming it into a leading solo instrument. This record would showcase his virtuosic technique, bluesy improvisations, and his ability to create a full, swinging sound (often with just a guitar and drums). It would feature classic soul jazz grooves and his signature walking bass lines on the pedals
