Description:
Released on Kent Records in 1963, “I Miss Your Kiss” highlights Johnny “Guitar” Watson’s early fusion of blues, R&B, and soul. The track features Watson’s nimble guitar picking, a smooth but insistent rhythm section, and his signature vocal style — playful, soulful, and emotionally direct.
This single exemplifies Watson’s ability to combine heartfelt blues sentiment with infectious groove, foreshadowing the more funk-driven tracks he would create later in the 1970s. Its warm, intimate production and clear melodic hooks make it both a collector’s favorite and a showcase of Watson’s versatility as a performer and guitarist.
