“More and More” was one of Little Milton’s biggest crossover hits for Checker Records, blending Chicago soul sophistication with his signature blues phrasing. The track’s driving rhythm, call-and-response vocals, and brassy arrangement give it irresistible energy.
The B-side, “The Cost of Living,” adds a socially conscious message about economic hardship, foreshadowing the politically aware soul of the early 1970s.

“More and More” was later covered by Blood, Sweat & Tears and Clarence Carter, and its melodic bassline and horns have appeared in sample form on Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique era demos and various soul-funk re-edits.
