Genre: Soul / Pop / Doo-Wop

Description:
Released on Newtown Records, this early single by Patti LaBelle and The Bluebells captures the group’s elegant vocal harmonies and youthful energy. “Down the Aisle (Wedding Song)” is a lush, romantic ballad with doo-wop inflections and tender harmonies, while the B-side, “C’est La Vie (So Goes Life),” balances sweetness with rhythmic charm and hints of gospel influence.

These tracks are considered rare-soul gems. DJs and collectors prize them for Northern Soul and early 1960s girl-group compilations, and the vocal styling influenced later soul and R&B acts, including The Supremes and Gladys Knight & The Pips.
