Detailed Description Containing Key Facts: "Big Time" is a powerful and assertive funk track by the "King of Punk Funk," Rick James, released in 1981 from his blockbuster album Street Songs. This song embodies James's signature raw, gritty funk style, characterized by a heavy, driving bassline (often played by James himself), sharp horn arrangements, and his aggressive yet soulful vocal delivery. "Big Time" exudes confidence and swagger, celebrating success and lavish living. It features the tight, dynamic musicianship of the Stone City Band, making it another testament to James's ability to craft potent, danceable funk anthems that were both commercially successful and critically acclaimed.
