Written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter, “I Thank You” captures Sam & Dave in peak form — driving rhythm, tight horn punctuation, and that unmistakable gospel-funk energy. Released on Stax, it climbed the charts and became one of their signature hits.

The B-side, “Wrap It Up” (later made famous by The Fabulous Thunderbirds), is an equally powerful cut full of funky rhythm guitar, punchy drums, and raw, confident vocals.
