Echoing the classic instrumentals of Booker T. & The MG’s and The JB’s, “Funky So-And-So” became a favorite in DJ sets across Europe and Japan’s funk circuit, with its punchy breakbeat and crisp analog sound also making it a sampling target for underground hip-hop producers.
