Raw, sample-heavy Hip-Hop from the Queens duo at their most inventive. Released in 1993, Intoxicated Demons showcases The Beatnuts’ trademark production: dusty jazz and funk samples, hard-hitting breaks, offbeat humour and rugged boom-bap rhythms. Tracks like “Reign of the Tec” and “No Equal” capture the group’s distinctive blend of streetwise rhymes and imaginative, crate-digger production, built from the kind of obscure musical fragments that reward repeated listening. An underground golden-era essential for Hip-Hop heads, sample hunters and anyone who appreciates the art of turning forgotten records into fresh beats.
