A stone-cold jazz-funk classic.
Rock Creek Park captures The Blackbyrds at their infectious best, blending a rubbery bassline, crisp drums, shimmering keyboards and an irresistible groove built for the dancefloor.
Released in 1975, the track became a favourite among funk DJs and Hip-Hop producers, with its distinctive rhythm and drum break making it a go-to source for sampling, including Doug E. Fresh, Massive Attack, De La Soul and Eric B to name but a few.
Flip it over for Gut Level, a deeper funk workout that showcases the band’s tight musicianship and jazz-inflected sound. An essential 7-inch for funk collectors, breakbeat DJs and crate diggers chasing the foundations of sample-driven Hip-Hop.
