The Young Rascals’ “Good Lovin’” is a fiery slice of 1960s blue-eyed soul, powered by garage-rock energy and gospel-style harmonies. Originally written by Rudy Clark and first recorded by The Olympics, the Rascals transformed it into a number one hit with their infectious Hammond organ groove and Felix Cavaliere’s exuberant vocal delivery. The B-side, “Mustang Sally”—later immortalized by Wilson Pickett—captures the same electric blend of rock and R&B that defined the group’s early sound.

A defining anthem of mid-’60s American pop-soul, “Good Lovin’” has appeared in countless film soundtracks including The Big Chill and Hair and remains a radio staple.
