The Funkadoobian says: Packaging

A dancefloor-ready blend of funk, soul and disco, Vernon Burch’s Get Up is an essential for hunters and collectors. The standout title track, “Get Up,” delivers an infectious groove built around tight drums, funky guitar and soulful vocals, later providing a key sample for Deee-Lite’s 1990 dancefloor smash “Groove Is in the Heart.” That connection helped carry Burch’s groove into a new generation, bridging early-80s funk with the sample-driven sounds of house and Hip-Hop. A rewarding original LP for diggers.
