Description:
“Fire And Water” is a searing uptempo number combining gospel-inspired call-and-response vocals with a punchy rhythm section. Pickett’s performance alternates between fiery intensity and smooth phrasing, riding a tight horn and percussion arrangement that typifies late-60s Atlantic soul.

While not a major chart hit, it has become a cult favorite for rare-groove collectors and DJs looking for high-energy deep soul tracks from the Stax/Atlantic vault.
