Mister Mushi is a producer and DJ/edit-maker whose work is closely associated with funk, soul, Hip-Hop, breaks and disco, and with the culture of limited-edition 7-inch vinyl.

His records have been released primarily through his own Mushi 45 imprint, which has issued a series of limited 7-inch releases. Early titles include Hard Lifetime, released in 2020, and Crossed Track / Similar Beat, followed by releases including Masai Mobb and The Ethiopian Brothers – Selassie. The Hard Lifetime 7-inch was originally limited to 350 copies.

Mister Mushi's edits and productions draw heavily on breakbeat and funk records, with his releases often presenting vocal and instrumental versions specifically suited to DJs. His work on Babe Ruth's The Mexican, for example, reworks the track into vocal and instrumental "Special Edit" versions, focusing on its breaks, bassline and guitar parts.

His catalogue has also included the Disco Donuts series, with releases such as Disco Donuts Vol. 1 and Vol. 3, as well as Think / Once In A Remix. These releases have generally appeared as limited 7-inch pressings.

In 2026, Mister Mushi's edits of James Brown's "Funky Drummer" were released by King Groove Japan on 7-inch, with separate Special Edit versions of Parts 1 and 2. He has also produced edits of other well-known recordings, including Babe Ruth's "The Mexican".

Mister Mushi's catalogue is consequently centred on the kind of records prized by DJs, break-dancers and collectors: familiar grooves, obscure funk and soul discoveries, and reworked material presented in practical 7-inch formats.
